When you turn right after the Öland Bridge, your journey begins through southern Öland, a place we call “Fin Öland.” On one side stretches Alvaret, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and on the other side stretches the fertile Mörbylange plain. Here you will find row villages reminiscent of a traditional Öland, but nowadays also teeming with artists and small flea markets where you can make exciting finds.
An hour's drive south you will reach Ottenby and the lighthouse Långe Jan, a place that attracts birdwatchers from all over the world. During the spring and autumn migrations, thousands of birds flock here, and more than 300,000 visitors come annually to experience the spectacle of nature. Feel free to take a walk around the lighthouse, and according to the legend, a pat on the lighthouse brings luck — and it's free!
